Royal Dynamite’s new lookbook is an appeal to the brand’s Afropolitan fanbase. The California based streetwear brand serves up a nod to West African culture, since it happens to be a world that RD heavily resonate’s with.
Distinct continental vibes bubble to the forefront of the new gallery, which was shot on location around the African city of Accra,Ghana and pays homage to Africa’s relationship with the United States with the brilliant text “Am I too African, Am I too American?
RD hopes to turn heads with new collection that is an ode to the film; Am I: Too African to be American, Too American to be African by digital storyteller and Royal Dynamite co-founder Nadia Sasso. The shirt will continue with conversations of the film that explores the complex identity formations of young Africans living in America and West Africa who identify bi-culturally. It specifically looks at how they wrestle with concepts of race, complexion, gender, and heritage among other issues.
